Walking A Beagle
Canine Good Citizen (CGC)

The Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program, created by the American Kennel Club (AKC), is a training and certification program that promotes responsible dog ownership and good manners for dogs in everyday situations. It’s designed to ensure that dogs are well-behaved at home and in public, focusing on obedience, socialization, and self-control. Dogs who pass the CGC test demonstrate skills such as accepting friendly strangers, walking politely on a leash, sitting and staying on command, and remaining calm around other dogs and distractions. Earning the CGC certification shows that a dog is a well-mannered companion and can often serve as a foundation for therapy work, advanced training, or community involvement.
